I am raising money for The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group. This seems like a good charity to support, as they will be very busy right now. I met people from this hospital in Jerusalem in 1996, when I was cycling across the Middle East with two friends.

This charity is the main provider of expert eye care in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. It treats patients regardless of their ethnicity, religion or ability to pay.

My fundraising challenge - I don't have time to do LEJOG (Land's End to John O'Groats), so I've invented a Scottish alternative called 'MUGDUNNET' from the southernmost tip of mainland Scotland at the Mull of Galloway, to the northernmost point at Dunnet Head.

I am hoping to complete it by 12th September. Planning to use National Cycle Network (NCN) where possible and largely camping en route. Will put progress updates on Facebook (exact start date TBC). Please send a few quid if you can afford it - many thanks!
