emergency aid

Supporting the work of the Anglican Church in Shyogwe Diocese to relieve financial hardship due to poverty, sickness, disability and old age, through education and training in agriculture, health and nutrition, reconciliation, giving spiritual and moral teaching and teaching vocational skills thus providing income and self-sufficiency for each family unit.

Story

There is a flood crisis in Shyogwe Diocese. Like in some other countrysides, in the districts of Muhanga, Kamonyi, Nyanza and Ruhango, the the floods have affected many households. Houses are destroyed and the land and crops washed away. In Shyogwe diocese, severe consequences of the floods were reported in parishes of Hanika, Nyagisozi, Tambwe, Nyamagana, Muyebe, Munazi, and Gatenzi.

Fortunately, the people survived in these places. However, the families affected by the Floods are in need of rebuilding destroyed houses: some lost their house where they live or latrines or kitchens. Two churches are affected with the roof destroyed.

The Christians and the neighbours have been doing their best to come to help the families. 11 families need to be helped with the purchase of ironsheets for the roofs, and the purchase of cements, sand and bricks for the walls. The church of Rubona and a church in Shaki need also the ironsheets for their destroyed roofs.
