Story
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share an exciting and meaningful expedition / adventure that I am about to embark on, and we would love for you to be a part of it.
From 5 November, I will be joining around 30 incredible individuals on part of a historic road trip from Kullu, the 'Valley of Gods' in the Western Himalayas, all the way to the Southernmost tip of India, Kanyakumari.
This journey will span an impressive 5,150 kilometres, in four stages of a week each, taking us through diverse landscapes, cultures, and experiences. What makes this journey even more special is that 50% of the participants will be traveling on motorbikes, while the rest will be in chauffer driven SUV’s. But this adventure is not just about the thrill of the road and the breath-taking scenery; it's also an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
During the trip, international experts and experts from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi and Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, partners for developing Disaster Medicine training will undertake training and awareness workshops on ‘Disaster Medicine’, impacts of disasters on the health of the population and need for medical and healthcare professionals to plan for preparedness, response and recovery phases.
We are proud to be participating this road trip in support of “Saving Lives International” (www.isavinglives.org), a charity that has evolved from over 22 years of front-line investment in disaster rehabilitation work in South Asia.
We have worked in and supported post disaster rehabilitation programmes from Latur earthquake (1993), Orissa cyclone (1999) Bangladesh floods (1998), Gujarat cyclone (1998), Gujarat/Kutch earthquake (2001), Tsunami of 2004, supporting South India and Sri Lanka, Nepal earthquake (2015), and many other pro-active disaster training programmes in Goa, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Indore, Kochi, Srinagar, Kathmandu just to list a few.
Our mission is simple: to raise funds for this noble cause. Every donation, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping “Saving Lives International” carry out their critical work. Your contribution will directly support disaster medicine efforts, disaster relief work, and the countless lives they touch in the wake of natural disasters and emergencies.
Your support means the world to me and the entire team. Together, we can make a significant impact and be a part of something truly extraordinary. Let's come together to help those in need and create a brighter future for the communities served by “Saving Lives International”. Thank you for considering my request, and I look forward to sharing this incredible journey with you.
Warm regards,
Peter (Pankaj) Patel
