Story
I’m taking on a 72km (47 mile) ultra marathon around England’s largest lake in the beautiful Lake District, with 24 hours to complete the full circumnavigation on some of the most stunning and runnable trails in the region. The route passes incredible viewpoints across the Lake District fells and will be an amazing experience — but covering 47 miles on foot will be a huge physical and mental challenge.
I’m doing this in memory of Andy Lofthouse and raising money for Big C Cancer Charity.
Founded in Norfolk in 1980, Big C supports local people affected by cancer through support services, research, equipment and education. The charity runs four Cancer Support & Information Centres across Norfolk, as well as providing telephone and online support. Thousands of people use these centres each year, where trained staff provide emotional support, guidance and complementary therapies during incredibly difficult times.
Andy’s memory is a huge motivation for me to take on this challenge. Every mile will be run in his honour, and every donation will help Big C continue supporting people and families facing cancer.
If you’re able to support, any donation—big or small—would mean a lot. Thank you for helping turn this tough challenge into something positive for others.
