Story
As a team of new Firefighter Apprentices from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, we are gearing up for an incredible challenge on Saturday, 4 May. Together, we will be embarking on a 488-mile cycling journey, symbolizing the area of Berkshire in square miles. This cycling event is not just about the physical feat; it's about our unwavering commitment to supporting The Fire Fighters Charity, the UK fire family's charity. The Fire Fighters Charity plays a vital role in providing therapy, rehabilitation, and essential health and wellbeing services for fire service personnel and their families. From injured firefighters to office staff and families, they are there for every member of the fire service community. We understand the importance of their work firsthand, which is why we are wholeheartedly dedicated to raising funds for this noble cause. On the day of our challenge, we will have collection buckets available and would be immensely grateful for any kind of donation, no matter the size. Every contribution makes a meaningful impact on the lives of those who dedicate themselves to keeping our communities safe.
We based at Lexicon shopping centre in Bracknell. If you are in the area, It would be awesome to see you there. There will be a fire truck and some sweaty smiling firefighters 😉
It’s Firefighter memorial day on Saturday whilst we are doing our charity event.
Firefighters Memorial is an important day for all serving and retired firefighters.
The day honours the sacrifice of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty, acknowledging the courage and dedication of generations of firefighters, including those who serve our communities today.
On the day, firefighters stand outside of their stations at midday and hold a minute’s silence. A wreath-laying takes place at the National Firefighters Memorial by St Paul’s Cathedral with representatives from the FBU and the Firefighters Memorial Trust.
We will also parade at midday as a sign if respect for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and considering supporting The Fire Fighters Charity. Your generosity will directly benefit those who selflessly serve others.
