Peter's fundraiser for Wellbeing in the Weald

Peter Simpson is raising money for Wellbeing in the Weald

I am walking 20 miles (in one day) · 23 August 2026

We aim to bring the community together in a fun and social way to highlight the importance of connecting and joining in shared activities. If you are feeling low or a bit lonely, take a look at the activities we currently offer in and around the Cranbrook area, as well as our forthcoming events. We offer a warm welcome at all our activities. Either just come along, or make contact with us to find out more. Sometimes, just connecting with new people can make a huge difference to your life.

Story

I am involved with a local charity – Wellbeing in the Weald – which provides activities in and around Cranbrook to combat loneliness and promote wellbeing. Activities include a weekly drop-in, a book club, walking groups, a community allotment, a crafting group, a yoga class, a men’s wellbeing group and a youth club.

All activities are free but the charity costs over £30k a year to run, raised by fundraising and grants. This year has been a tough year, so on Sunday 23rd August I’m doing a 20-mile sponsored walk to raise funds.

I will be starting in Cranbrook and - in a figure of eight –walking to Benenden and back to Cranbrook (10 miles) and then out to Goudhurst and back to Cranbrook(10 miles).

I’m hoping to raise a much-needed £1,000 and any help you can give by sponsoring me would be great.
