Eastbourne Half Marathon 2024 · 3 March 2024

You Raise Me Up was founded by the Brooks family in June 2011 following the sudden, tragic loss of daughter, Megan aged just 17. The charity's purpose is to raise funds to help families that have suffered the loss of a child between the ages of 16 & 25, offering mental health & emotional support.

Story

Fat Freddie and the Queens very own John (Pete) and Roger (Steve) are running the Eastbourne half marathon for the amazing charity You Raise Me Up on Sunday 3rd March.

You Raise Me Up supports families after the death of a child aged 16-25.

The charity provides compassion, support and simply to be able to say “we totally understand” rather than “we cannot imagine what you are going through”.

We have trained, experienced counsellors available to help families through these dark times. We also run monthly support groups, where you can meet other families going through similar emotions and start to feel less alone. Our support centre and community cafe in Polegate is comfortable welcoming space for all.
