The William Templeton Foundation for Young People’s Mental Health improves lives by inspiring innovations - based on leading research - for the identification, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental health conditions.

Story

The William Templeton Foundation for Young People’s Mental Health (YPMH) is a charitable foundation working to improve the lives of young people by facilitating innovative approaches to prevent and resolve mental health conditions, especially depression and anxiety. You can find out more here...

Founded in 2019 in memory of William Templeton, YPMH has worked with researchers, innovators, health professionals, educational institutions, employers and prisons to:

- Understand better how depression develops in young people.

- Develop new approaches to the prevention, early detection and reduction of depression that can be applied across society.

- Publish and share evidence-based information to help people and organisations to understand why they need to take action, and what they can do, to prevent and reduce depression in young people.

YPMH is now working to help accelerate the translation of research into innovations that can be widely used across society.

I am taking on the Trans-Pyrenees Cycling Challenge for young people's mental health to help YPMH to continue its vitally important work.

The Challenge starts at the Bay of Biscay on the Atlantic Coast and finishes at the Mediterranean, covering nearly 800km and ascending over 17,000 metres -over 8 days- through one of Europe’s most impressive mountain ranges. It includes tackling climbs such as the Col du Tourmalet and Col d'Aubisque.

Please support our work to improve young people's mental health. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Thank you,

Peter
