I've been a volunteer & operational Team Member with NSART; Nottinghamshire Search & Rescue Team for the last seven years. I'm running the London Marathon on 26th April to raise much needed funds for the Team. We're a charity, completely staffed by volunteers & anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated. We are Nottinghamshire’s Lowland Rescue team. We are a team of more than 40 professional volunteers on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to deploy at any time, in any weather to find vulnerable missing people.

We are proud members of Lowland Rescue, the UKs governing body for Lowland Rescue teams and are deployed by Nottinghamshire Police.

Approximately 80% of our callouts are for people with poor mental health (despondent and suicidal) and those with mental disorders such as dementia. Our aim is to ensure they are reconnected with the appropriate services and support.

Covering all 834 square miles (2.16 billion square metres) of Nottinghamshire, our members are trained to operate across all types of terrain including rural land, towns and cities, forest, and around water.

We also regularly assist Lowland Rescue teams in surrounding counties and will assist any Search and Rescue Team or emergency service requesting help in England and Wales if we can.

As a member of Lowland Rescue, all NSART members are trained to and work to nationally recognized standards.

Nottinghamshire Search and Rescue Team is a registered charity and is funded entirely by donations and grants. It costs over £20,000 a year to keep the team operational. As well as lots of other things this includes insurance, equipment and training.

All our members are volunteers and each give up hundreds of hours a year training, on callouts and fundraising for the Team.
