Story
Exercise can be fun, if you get the right support. Help me to (help a charity that can) make this happen!
'Active Communities' is creating opportunities for people in Edinburgh to keep active and well. This initiative uses physical activity and sport to support over 12,500 people each year to improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life. The Active Communities programme help care experienced children to have an active childhood, enables people with long-term health conditions to enjoy a better quality of life, and helps older adults to stay active and connected in later life.
On April 6th (Easter Monday) I'm going to be swimming 1km at each of the five Victorian swimming pools in Edinburgh, and walking a total of 16km to get between them. After signing up I researched it properly and realised 21km is a half marathon, or that an Olympic triathalon is swimming for 1.5km and running for 10 km. So apparently I have signed up for an endurance event by accident, and have only got 9 weeks to train.
Please support my charity fundraising and cautionary tale!
