Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Sue and I will be attempting our third banger rally challenge in order to raise money for a charity that is close to our hearts and one that affects millions of lives worldwide – dementia.
Dementia is a collection of cognitive disorders that robs individuals of their memories, thinking abilities, and independence. It doesn't discriminate, impacting people of all ages, races, and backgrounds. Watching a loved one face the challenges of dementia can be heart breaking, and we believe it's time for us to come together and make a difference.
Dementia has a profound impact on the lives of millions of people around the world. It’s a condition that challenges not only those diagnosed but also their families and caregivers, as cherished memories fade and familiar faces become distant.
Sues aunt Sarah is currently suffering from late stage dementia which is having a huge effect on her and her family. Whilst Sarah is in a great home in Northern Ireland, her memory of her family is patchy at best and visits can be difficult for all involved.
We would like to raise money for Dementia UK who are the only specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family, working towards a day when no one has to face dementia alone. Their specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing advice and support, to anyone affected by dementia, whenever it is needed.

In order to support Dementia UK we will take on a Helter Skelter 7 Days, 8 Countries and 7 Party Nights challenge as we make our way to Saint Tropez with crazy challenges, dodgy campsites, and frequent breakdowns in our suitably decrepit waggon!
Around 60-70 teams will (hopefully) leave Cornwall, cross their fingers and hope their cars make it all the way to the end!
The Rally will start from Charlestown Harbour on Saturday 23rd September with a finish at St Tropez on Friday 29th September.
You are probably thinking there will be support en route. You are joking surely? Each day there will be the uncertainty of whether our chosen chariot will make it to the next destination let alone start the next morning. Breaking down miles from anywhere, on a mountain pass in a strange country is an ever present risk!

Thank you
