Peter was looked after by many excellent nursing staff in hospital for 2 weeks before he died.

As a qualified therapist and Samaritans volunteer, he was shocked to see the degree of pressure that the nurses were having to work under, and feared for the impact that this must be having on their mental health.

We have therefore decided to direct Peter's funeral collection toward a Mental Health Hub for NHS student nurses. The hub will provide a dedicated space for student nurses to focus on their own mental health, find support, and develop the necessary coping mechanisms to continue supporting patients like Peter.
