Story
30km, hills and draining terrain. And a tired 50 year old doing it. Its an important cause. I'm trekking 30KM across the Chilterns to raise money for CALM.
One in four of us will have suicidal thoughts in our life. CALM’s vision is that no one feels like suicide is their only option. But right now, too many people are struggling to see a way forward.
Every day in the UK we lose 18 people to suicide. This isn’t just a stat on a page, they all mean something. CALM help anyone struggling with life - and provide everyone with the skills to help prevent suicide.
I've been there, and I'm lucky, I know times are tough, but any donations will be gratefully received. Any shares, reposts or likes all help too :)
I'm participating in the Trek for CALM 2026 on 19 September 2026, united by a shared mission to support CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), a vital suicide prevention charity. Every step we take is fueled by the hope of making a difference for those struggling in silence. CALM offers essential tools and resources, including a life-saving helpline that provides comfort and guidance to individuals who feel overwhelmed, have lost someone to suicide, or worry about their loved ones.
The need for this support has never been greater. Each call answered can be a turning point—a moment where despair is met with understanding and help. Just £12.20, will fund one potentially life-saving call, offering someone the chance to find hope and strength when they need it most.
Your generosity will directly contribute to keeping these lifelines open and accessible. Together, we can help more people find their way through the darkness toward brighter days.
