Hi, I’m Helen. Thank you for taking the time to visit my justgiving page. I’m currently fundraising for Mind following the death of my ex husband, who was bipolar and suffered from mental health issues. I have sadly been left to bring up our three children as a single parent. I have also suffered from mental health issues as a result and I discovered running helped me deal with my grieving.

Since the death of my ex husband, I’ve run hundreds of consecutive half marathons to raise funds and awareness for Mind and keep myself healthy in the process. I’ve even gained a Guinness World Record from it all!

I aim to use my new found level of fitness to power me through my next challenge which is a weeks trek across Petra to raise money for Mind.

From the 14th - 21st October 2023, I’ll be joining 6 other people on the Venari Partners challenge to trek across Petra, covering 6-9 hours hiking per day in subtropical temperatures of around 30-35 degrees. The max altitude will be 1200m above sea level, and we will be climbing and descending around 2500m in total over the 5 days of trekking. I’ll be covering mountains and rocky, dusty terrain with the other 6 participants, and we will be camping in remote areas where facilities are basic.

I shall be completing this challenge as part of a group sponsored by the Venari Partners with a goal of raising a further £1000 for Mind charity.
