I’m Taking Conservation to New Heights – Literally!

My name is Petronel Nieuwoudt and I am the Founder and CEO of Care for Wild.

I’ve dedicated my life to protecting rhinos, but this year, I’m taking that commitment to the next level—by walking on the wings of a flying aircraft with our UK team!

Yes, you read that right! I’ll be strapped to the top of a plane, soaring through the sky, all to raise critical funds for Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary. It’s a terrifying challenge, but one I’m willing to take on—because saving rhinos requires you to take every risk.

Every day, orphaned and injured rhinos arrive at Care for Wild after losing their mothers to poaching. They need urgent medical care, nutrition, and protection to survive. This wing walk is about making sure we can continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rewilding rhinos who have no one else to fight for them. This is about saving a species from extinction.
