Musicathon · 3 March 2024

Forget-me-not Chorus supports those living with and alongside dementia through the power of song. Inclusive singing sessions in community, care home, hospital, and online settings empower participants to use and share their voice: improving health, wellbeing, challenging stigma, and bringing joy.

Story

On Sunday 3rd March, there will be an extended concert of music produced by AMM boys to fundraise for the Forget-Me-Not Chorus charity. This charity works directly with care homes to organise group singing sessions for those suffering with dementia, encouraging engagement and communication through music.

Dementia will directly affect 1 in 3 people born in the UK and there is currently no cure. It can however be managed and organisations such as Forget-Me-Not Chorus can encourage communication through the medium of music as well as adding some pleasure to the lives of those living with this condition.

My family has been affected by dementia and, having seen firsthand the damage that Alzheimer’s can cause, I am proud to support this charity through this Musicathon. Your donation will bring some joy to those suffering from dementia. Thank you for your generosity.
