Story
Last year, our good friend Simon lost his wife Angie after a courageous two and half-year battle with cancer. Throughout the most difficult months, St John’s Hospice were there — not just for Angie, but for the whole family. They provided comfort, dignity, and compassion, both at home and in the hospice itself. Their care made an unimaginable time just a little more bearable, and we’ll never forget it.
That’s why we, Phil and Jay, are taking on a challenge in Angie’s memory — to raise vital funds so that St John’s can continue to do the same for other families who need them.
From 26th–29th September, we’ll be cycling 268 miles over 4 days on one of the toughest but most beautiful routes in Europe. Starting in the fortified city of Carcassonne, we’ll ride through the rolling hills of Cathar country before facing the mighty Pyrenees. Our biggest test? Tackling the brutal climb of the Port d’Envalira (2,408m) in Andorra — a climb the Tour de France pros know well. From there, we’ll head south through the Catalan Pyrenees and finally roll into Barcelona, exhausted but (hopefully!) elated.
This ride will push us to our limits — but every mile we pedal will be for Angie, for Simon, for their children, and for the incredible team at St John’s Hospice who gave so much when it mattered most.
We would be so grateful if you could support us by donating whatever you can. Every penny goes directly to St John’s Hospice to help them continue their incredible work.
Thank you so much for your support,
Phil & Jay ❤️
