‘Our Dementia Choir’ uses the incredible power of music to bring happiness, connection, and comfort to those affected by dementia. Our choir is more than just a singing group; it's a secure space where the therapeutic effects of music extend beyond the boundaries of memory. Thank you

Story

I'm raising money for Our Dementia Choir in 2024. On May 26th I'll be taking part in The Great Manchester Run 10K and on September 29th I'll be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in the choir's home city, Nottingham.

My wife Louise started showing the first signs of dementia in her mid-fifties. In December 2021 she was diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimer's Disease.

Louise had the great fortune to join Our Dementia Choir in April 2023. The choir, formed by Vicky McClure, uses the power of music to bring happiness, connection and comfort to those affected by dementia.

Our Dementia Choir performs throughout the country, from small intimate gatherings to large-scale events. Every performance helps raise awareness of dementia and promote music's therapeutic benefits.

For Louise and I, the choir provides invaluable support, respite and happiness.

Our Dementia Choir relies on charitable fundraising in order to continue bringing joy to thousands through music, spreading dementia awareness and providing vital support to its members and caregivers. All donations are greatly appreciated!
