My Story: Million Steps & A Finish Line

At the end of last year, my world was turned upside down when I was made redundant from a job I’d held for 13 years. It was a rubbish time, to say the least.

I was incredibly lucky to have the support of my running groups and my litter-picking community. They kept me going, kept me active, and helped me get to the much better place I am in today.

However, I know that not everyone is lucky enough to have that support network when things go wrong. That’s why I’m raising money for Mind. I want to make sure that when someone is struggling, they have somewhere to turn.

The Challenge: Litter Lent & Beyond

To give back, I’m taking on a massive double challenge this year:

Litter Lent (Year 3): From 18th February to 5th April, I am aiming to hit 1 million steps. I’ll be out litter-picking almost every single day, keeping our community clean while racking up the miles.

The Great North Run: All those steps are building the foundation for me to take on the iconic GNR.

Every penny raised goes toward ensuring no one has to face a mental health problem alone. Thank you for supporting my journey (and my sore legs!).
