Story

Thank you for supporting my Just Giving Page. In January 21 my beloved son Matt McCarthy passed away from a brain tumour and covid. Diagnosed in 2014 he fought this horrible disease with courage and humour whilst undergoing two serious operations plus radio and chemotherapy treatments. He never complained once, always upbeat with staff, family and friends and was comforting, and cheering others up who were suffering at the same time. When he got his terminal diagnosis it was crushing and he out his arm around me… Bravest man I have ever known and his loss has left a chasm in all our lives that can never be filled.

In his memory and honour I am taking on the zip line to support families and patients who need our/your support now more than ever.

Each year, Willow Wood Hospice have to raise over £3 million to provide the care and support our community needs and are facing a huge deficit this year.

Please help because what you can give will make a difference to the lives of our community and those who need Willow Wood the most.

£5 could provide a patients meal, £25 could provide a bereavement session for a child, thank you for supporting this amazing charity.

Please share this to friends, family and even people you dont really like, just get the donations in. Think of Matts memory and how we can all contribute to his legacy.
