Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After making 10 or 11 unsuccessful ballot applications for the London Marathon, I have been fortunate enough to gain a charity place and have been selected to run for Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK in 2026.

At the date of the race I will be 17 days away from turning 58, old enough to know better but still daft enough to accept a great challenge like this.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA UK)

A sudden cardiac arrest stops the heart without warning. Without immediate CPR and defibrillation, it’s usually fatal within minutes. This exact thing happened to a good friends wife whilst they were doing some routine shopping. Had it not been for his immediate intervention then his wife would not have survived.

More and more people are surviving now than ever before. Recovery is possible, but it’s a marathon, not a sprint. There will be ups and downs, victories and setbacks along the way and as charity the rely on your donations to continue to operate.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
