Story
On June 6th, I will be undertaking the Velo 29 Coast to Coast—a 154-mile endurance ride from Seascale on the West coast to Whitby on the East coast, tackling some of the most demanding terrain in the North with The Cumbrian Climbs of Hardknot and Wrynose with their 33% slopes and sharp turns.
I am riding in support of Parkinson's UK.
I have chosen this charity because I have witnessed, at close quarters, the quiet dignity and immense courage required to live with this condition. I have seen how it slowly attempts to erode independence, and the resilience required by families to navigate that changing landscape.
I am choosing to suffer on the bike; I choose the hills and the fatigue. Those living with Parkinson's do not get a choice. They face a daily ultra-marathon that requires far more grit than any cycling event.
I am fully self-funding my entry, travel, and accommodation for this event. This means 100% of your donation goes directly to the charity, funding vital research and support for those who need it most.
If you can contribute, know that your generosity is going towards a fight that matters deeply to me.
Thank you for your support.
