I'm walking the Tyndale Trail

Philip Baillie is raising money for Bible Society

Walk · 16 September 2026

This year marks the 500th anniversary of Tyndale’s groundbreaking 1526 New Testament. On 16–17 September, Bible Society supporters and staff are taking on a 26-mile sponsored walk in Tyndale's footsteps.

Story

Dear friends and family,

2026 marks the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale’s 1526 English New Testament which was the first time that the whole New Testament had been translated from Greek into English and published.

On the 16th and 17th of September I’ll be joining a group of Bible Society staff and supporters walking 26 miles in two days from Tyndale’s statue in central Bristol to the Tyndale Monument in North Nibley (Gloucestershire) passing through the places he lived and worked.

We’re walking to raise awareness of how wonderful it is that we have access to the Scriptures in our country, thanks to Tyndale. We’re also raising money for Bible Society who do amazing work in England and Wales and all around the world creating opportunities for people to discover the Bible and encounter the life-changing words of Jesus. They continue the work begun by Tyndale whose core belief was that the Bible is for everyone.

Thank you so much for your support!
