Story
After walking the North Wales Pilgrim’s Way in memory of my wife, Elizabeth (Liz), I have decided to take on another walk — the Camino de Santiago.
This journey isn’t about setting records or proving anything. It’s about taking time to reflect, to remember, and to continue a path that began after losing Liz. Walking has given me space to think, to process, and to feel close to her, and the Camino feels like the right next step.
During Liz’s final days, Wakefield Hospice cared for her with extraordinary kindness, dignity and compassion. They also looked after our family in ways that we will always be grateful for.
This walk is simply my way of giving something back — and of course carrying Liz with me as I go. I’ll be walking day by day, quietly chatting to Liz, updating her on everything and taking in the journey and what it represents.
If you feel able to support this walk with a donation, I would be deeply thankful. Every contribution helps Wakefield Hospice continue to care for others as they cared for us.
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for taking a moment to share this journey with me.
