JBMS was set up in honour of John Bradburne, to relieve people at Mutemwa, Zimbabwe, who are suffering sickness and hardship from leprosy and other diseases, through the provision of supplementary food, medicines, medical care, and shelter, with the objective of improving their conditions of life.

Story

As some of you may know, I had a mini stroke just under a year ago. It is important for me to get fit. I thought I would do so by raising money for a charity which is important to me.

That's why I'm walking 5 kilometres a day for 3 months, from Monday 20th November 2023 to 20th February 2024. I'm going to post the story of each walk on Facebook every day.

For encouragement, and to motivate me even more, I would like to raise some money for the John Bradburne Memorial Society who fund the Mutemwa Leprosy Care Centre ( Mutemwa LCC) in Zimbabwe.

The Mutemwa LCC is home to 34 patients living with mixed illnesses ranging from leprosy, aids to mental and physical disabilities.

John Bradburne was a former vagabond turned Catholic martyr and the most prolific poet in the English language. He dedicated his life to the Mutemwa LCC.

Please do sponsor me on my journey to a healthier future if you can.

All the best,

Phil
