Story
We are doing a fundraiser in memory of Stuart Turner, a close friend to all of us, who tragically lost his life in a drowning accident in November last year while training to compete in the Da Nang Ironman. Three teams and two individuals, from RMIT University, where Stu was the academic manager in Da Nang, and from Hoi An International School, where his wife Jennifer Turner is a teacher, are racing in the Danang Ironman 70.3 to raise funds for Swim Vietnam (participant names below).
Besides completing the event on Stu's behalf, we want to take the opportunity to fundraise for a very important cause, water safety in Vietnam, and Swim Vietnam is our chosen charity. Around 2,000 children drown a year in Vietnam and Swim Vietnam has been doing amazing work since it was established in 2008 to reduce this number. Funds raised will go towards survival swimming lessons for local children, training local swimming teachers, classroom water safety and building swimming pools. More information can be found on their website here: https://swimvietnam.com/ .
Any money you can donate will be greatly appreciated and we all thank you in advance.
