We fight for a world without iron overload to prevent serious illness and save lives

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with Haemochromatosis - a genetic condition that impedes my bodies processing of iron. Without ongoing lifelong treatment, it can cause serious issues in joints and organs and quite likely led to the cancer that killed my Dad in his early 50's.

This charity has supported me as I try to come to terms with something that will never go away, and that will require ongoing treatment...... I'd like to help them support others.

As you know, I don't have many talents, but I am passable at riding a bike, or at least I was until my lay off after my shoulder operation.... So in the spirit of giving myself something to aim for I'll be riding the Etap Caledonia for 85 miles of stunning Scottish scenery in aid of the charity.
