Phil’s fundraiser for Cure Parkinson’s

Philip Rowlett is raising money for Cure Parkinson’s

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Team Cure are taking on the 2025 TCS London Marathon, hoping to raise over £100,000 to fund cutting edge research into potential new treatments that could slow, stop or reverse Parkinson's.

Story

In April im taking part in the Paris Marathon & the TCS London Marathon for Cure Parkinson's so effectively I’ll be running two marathons in two weeks.

I have chosen to raise money for cure Parkinson’s because they are actively trying to find a Cure for Parkinson’s & help people like my mum.

My mum lost her sense of smell a long time ago & for the last 6 or so years she has been shaky & has had joint pain/stiffness. Both of these symptoms have been getting worse year on year until finally she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s roughly around 3 years ago. Now she is really struggling to carry out every day tasks & has to use a stick to help her balance & she is always worried about falling over.

I am running these marathons to help people like my mum but also to help the future generations & hopefully one day we won’t have to witness our loved ones or ourselves struggle with this awful disease. I am also running for myself as I feel achieving this will give me a great goal to work towards to keep me disciplined & focused, & if the money I raise can help even just one family I will be so proud.

Thankyou to each & every one of you who has taken time to look at my page.

Your donations will lead to the breakthrough we all want to see.

Together we will find a cure for Parkinson's.

Just a little update: while my training has been going really well & I successfully completed the Paris marathon in a time that I was really pleased with. Unfortunately my mums pain has been getting worse & worse. She is currently suffering with chronic back pain & the only advice she has been given from the doctors is to take more painkillers. I really hope the money I have raised can help to fund research to find some better medication as it’s truly awful to see my mum in so much pain every single day.
