Story

On Saturday 10th October '26, we will be walking 24 miles in 12 hours through the stunning Yorkshire Dales, climbing the iconic peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough all in aid of Willow Wood Hospice.

It costs around £10,000 per day to run the Willow Wood Hospice, so raising money for them is needed more than ever.

The cost of providing hospice services is increasing, while ever more people need palliative care. It’s free at the point of use but, unlike in the NHS, it is not fully state funded, receiving only 24% of the running costs from the government. Willow Wood Hospice relies on the generosity of the public to raise the remaining three quarters of its annual costs via fundraising activities such as this.

If you can spare any amount, your donation will really make a difference to patients with any life-limiting illness and those closest to them. Thank you so much.
