Story
Sheffield 10K for St Luke’s Hospice 💙
As many of you know, for the last few years I have taken part in the Sheffield 10K and Half Marathon to raise money for the amazing St Luke’s Hospice, in memory of our beloved Vera and Fred.
Since we lost Vera and Fred, we have sadly lost two more incredibly special people, Jodie and Katherine, both of whom received end-of-life care from St Luke’s. The care and compassion they gave to our loved ones, and the support they provided to our families, was truly outstanding. We will be forever grateful for this very special place.
This year, I’m incredibly lucky to have Michelle and Joe joining me. Michelle will be taking on her very first 10K, having only recently started running — so we’re incredibly proud of her for taking on this challenge! 🏃♀️💙
St Luke’s doesn’t just care for patients; they support the whole family through what can be the most heartbreaking and difficult time imaginable. Both Jodie and Katherine had young children, and the support St Luke’s continues to provide to their families is something that means so much to all of us.
Every year, St Luke’s touches the lives of around 6,000 people across Sheffield. With only 23% of their costs funded by the government, they need to raise more than £11 million this year to continue providing their vital services.
By taking part in the Sheffield 10K, we hope to play a small part in helping St Luke’s continue the incredible work they do for patients and their families across Sheffield.
Every single penny donated will make a difference. No donation is too small, and every pound will help St Luke’s continue to be there for families when they need them most.
Thank you so much for your support — it means more than you know. ❤️
For Vera, Fred, Jodie and Katherine. Forever loved, never forgotten. 🕊️💙
