Story

On the 6th September I will be rowing with this lovely lot Elo, Rachel, Claire and Jane in "The Monster of the Loch Row" some 34 kilometers in total.

In 2015, Rory, discovered a rare but persistent bone tumour in his foot. After five major surgeries, we reached the difficult conclusion that an amputation was the only option. On the 1st of July, he underwent a below-the-knee amputation and was admitted to a residential rehab centre in Roehampton.
This centre is one of only two in the country that can offer residential rehabilitation for complex cases where surgeries have failed and patients are grappling with life-changing events.
The stories of patients alongside him with both neuro and physical disabilities are humbling and heartbreaking.
Despite the challenges we face, we have been truly inspired by the community spirit and expertise shown by both staff and patients. Their unwavering commitment has been a lifeline for us.
Elo's sister Gabs is also in a rehab unit in Leatherhead after sustaining devastating brain injuries last year following a car accident.
We are all in this boat together and asking you to do all you can to help both these charities.
My goal is to raise £2,000 for St George's Hospital Charity (The Douglas Bader Rehabilitation Fund), which plays a crucial role in supporting individuals to live as full a life as possible with their disability. Your contribution will mean so much.
Elo's sister is being supported by the Queen Elisabeth's Foundation for Disability, https://www.justgiving.com/page/eloise-rank-1?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=EM
Thank you in advance for your generosity and if you are able, please support both!
Loads of love
