Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sadly in June this year my lovely brother Nick lost his short battle with bladder cancer.
I had made a promise that if I got a ballot place again for the GNR in Sept this year, I would run for a cause on his behalf and now I will be running in his memory too ❤️
The Homecare Support Fund and Palliative Care Team in Barnsley gave valuable help and support to both Nick and his family, enabling him to spend his last days at home, where he wanted to be.
"The Home Care Support Fund is part of the “EyUp Registered Charity” which is used to support palliative and end of life patients within the Barnsley area. This is used by both the Supportive Care at Home Service and Palliative Care Service to support their patients and purchase equipment and supplies that they may need. The fund is run on donations from families and relatives of past patients who have benefited from the care of our services.”
It's been a while since I did any running, so the Great North Run will be a challenge! As I plod along the route I will be encouraged by the fact that I will be raising money for a great local cause that Nick benefited from directly and that others will too in future.
Thank you for your donation 😊 xx
