Story
State of Mind Sport harness the power of sport to raise awareness about mental health and strive to improve the mental fitness of the population with the goal of preventing suicide
So lots of you will know I’ve been a big supporter of State of Mind for a long while now following my struggles with my Mental Health over the past nearly 15 years. I’ve tried to raise awareness that talking about your MH is no sign of weakness in fact the complete opposite. I’ve never been ashamed to talk about my struggles and my depression and have spoken to lots of people who have opened up to me about theirs.
During lock down I took on the 40/120 challenge running 8 miles every night for 5 nights that’s 40 miles in 120 hours
(one person every 40 seconds takes their life and 120 deaths in every 80 minutes of a rugby match played)
I’ve done nothing since and since retiring I’ve enjoyed the sun BUT now I’m ready for my next challenge
THE 2026 LONDON MARATHON
Yes you've read it correctly I’m over weight and never even ran a half marathon but I’m determined to smash this, running for State of Mind
It’s going to be hard mentally and physically but I’m determined to raise as much as I can for this fantastic charity.
Please help me to do this by giving as little or as much as you can to this amazing charity.
All encouragement greatly appreciated…. I’m gonna need it
Thank you all in advance
Phill
