RUNNING AROUND DORSET: 43 for 43 Challenge
I’m taking on a Christmas 2025 challenge in support of HealthBus, which offers specialist healthcare to homeless women.
43 for 43 is my challenge
I’ll be running 43 miles a day for 5 days in a row over Christmas, and sleeping outside at the end of each day. I’m doing this to raise vital awareness and funds for HealthBus, a local charity providing healthcare and hope to people experiencing homelessness, with a particular focus on women living on the streets.
Target
£4,300
Why 43?
Because the average age of death for a woman living on the streets of Dorset is just 43 years old. That shocked me – and it’s why I chose 43 miles and a fundraising target of £4,300.
Over 5 days, I’ll cover 215 miles, roughly the full boundary of Dorset. I also wanted to highlight the reality of sleeping outside. Running that distance is tough, but it’s nothing compared to what many women face every single night. I’ll still have a tent and sleeping bag – small comforts that so many don’t. You’ll see me experience only a tiny fraction of their daily struggle.
I’ll be running right through Christmas Day and Boxing Day, without the usual festive comforts, gifts, or big Christmas dinners. This year, your gift of giving would be my Christmas present of choice. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
