Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I completed the 10k in 1.09 which was a real achievement for me and I felt very emotional running with all your support and the support on the route. Thank you everyone!
I'm taking part in Manchester's iconic event with #TeamNorthCare and challenging myself to complete 10K in memory of my brother in law Tim Williams who was treated at Salford Royal by the amazing team in 2022. Tim (known as Scarf by his FC Utd. Of Manchester footie mates) was suddenly taken ill whilst watching a live football match-this was his passion! At Salford Royal he was diagnosed with a brain tumour but with the fantastic care and a life saving operation he went on to see many more FC Utd of Manchester matches and was able to return to Spain where he lived with my sister Pam. Sadly we lost him in July 2024 but we are so grateful for the care he received and the time they were able to have together that I wanted to challenge myself and run the Manchester 10k event.
I’ve been fitting the training in around my life as a busy headteacher and trying to work towards 10k, having only completed 5k park runs previously! I’m hoping that I will get round with a smile and do him proud.
