Story
Three years ago I was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer. Thankfully the surgery I had was very successful as there aren't a lot of alternative treatments that work on this type of cancer. Chemo doesn't work, most radiotherapy doesn't work and there's not a lot of other options.
When I had the surgery i didn't know if I'd ride again so I'm so very lucky to be back in the saddle and this challenge seemed like a perfect fit. I'll be clocking up 50km riding throughout April. 50km in a month isn't a lot to many riders, but considering where I was a year ago, its a big target for me but I'm super excited about it.
A message from Bone Cancer Research on where the money will go:
Every 10 minutes another child, teenager or adult is diagnosed with this brutal disease. All funds raised by our supporters will be put to use in all four areas of our work, not least to help to fund pioneering research to find a cure for this rare but brutal disease. We are investigating new treatments and 100% of our research is dedicated to primary bone cancer. You can help ensure everyone gets the support they need by taking on our Canter for a Cure challenge this April.
