Story

I’m Fundraising for Turning Tides

I’m raising money to support Turning Tides, a community project delivered by the Southend Association of Voluntary Services (SAVS).

Turning Tides provides free weekly youth club sessions for children aged 8–13 living in Central Southend. The clubs operate on the Balmoral and Woodgrange estates, areas that face significant social and economic challenges.

These sessions give young people a safe, welcoming place where they can have fun, make friends, learn new skills, and build confidence. For many children, Turning Tides offers opportunities and experiences that might not otherwise be available to them.

The programme helps young people to:

• Build confidence and self-esteem

• Improve their mental health and emotional wellbeing

• Develop positive friendships and social skills

• Make a meaningful contribution to their local community

• Access opportunities for personal growth and development

Every donation, no matter the size, will help Turning Tides continue providing vital activities, support, and opportunities for local children and young people.

By supporting my fundraising, you’re helping to create brighter futures for young people in some of Southend’s most disadvantaged communities.

Thank you for your generosity and support—it really will make a lasting difference
