The Everest on Donard Challenge · 7 November 2025

Each year Friends of the Cancer Centre funds life saving and life changing projects which make a real and positive difference to thousands of cancer patients and their families. The charity relies on donations from the public to be able to support these patients locally and across Northern Ireland.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Everest on Donard in support of the Friends of the Cancer Centre.

I’m taking on the challenge of hiking Slieve Donard (850m), 11 times, back to back, to reach the height of Mount Everest (8,849m). This will be a physically and mentally grueling task that will take over 24 hours to complete, but it’s all for an incredible cause.

This fundraiser is especially close to my heart. Over the past few months and years, my papa, my uncle Geoff & Stephen, my mother- and father-in-law, Geraldine & Colm and several close friends have fought incredibly tough battles with cancer. Witnessing their strength and resilience has been nothing short of inspiring. The challenges they’ve faced and overcome continue to motivate me every day.

They and their families are the driving force behind this challenge. If I can find even a fraction of the strength and courage they’ve shown, I know I’ll be able to push through and make a meaningful contribution to those facing similar struggles.

Please consider donating whatever you can to support families who need it most. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.

Thank you all for your generosity and support, it truly means the world.
