Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

It’s 2026 and that means it’s time for another Stock Family Charity Challenge.

This year, Gem and I are supporting a charity set up by Julie and Jo Hayward, who do amazing work for Marie Curie across the West Midlands.

They have raised over £600,000 in the 25 years the Charity has been set up in memory of Julie’s Mum. The charity is run by Julie and Jo Hayward (and two other ladies), Gem’s aunties.

The cost of running a Marie Curie Centre for a day is £9,000, so we will be trying to raise £900 for the Lillian Goodfellow Group of Friends.

To get you to donate, Phil is taking on an official Olympic Distance Triathlon in Cheltenham on Sunday 13th September, 2026.

This is a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run, which will be a challenge…. Especially as he is over 40 now 🤣

Obviously, any support or donation you can give would be hugely appreciated. We know we have done a lot for different charities over the years and we do it regularly so any amount, however little, will go a long way.

We are only £3,800 away from raising £20,000 as a family over the last 16 years, so that’s a big target to achieve with a few more challenges lined up for the coming years 🙌🏻
