Story
I am running the Edinburgh Marathon in May and I am raising £1,500 for Clinks Care Farm, close to where I grew up in Beccles, Suffolk.
My parents are both regular volunteers at Clinks, delivering weekly veg and meat boxes and supporting on the farm where needed, and my sister Georgie and I also volunteered for them during the pandemic.
Clinks is a farm, but it is also a social enterprise. It combines care of the land with care of people, some of whom are disadvantaged young people and others who have physical or mental health problems. The farm supports their workers by giving them a safe space to learn new skills and grow in confidence, while both supporting and working with other local businesses. Their produce is fresh, organic and always sold locally, and they donate their surplus produce to people in need. What they do is amazing, and all the volunteers at Clinks really believe in its mission.
If you would like to support Clinks, please feel free to donate to my page. It is early days yet, but I will post some updates of my training and I will be doing some bake sales in my office a bit closer to the time. Thank you so much for donating!
