Story

Thank you for clicking the link — I’m guessing it was partly to check whether this was a prank. Phoebe… running a 10k… surely not?!

Sadly (or excitingly), this is not a joke.

Some of the wonderful people I work alongside have encouraged me to take part in the Plymouth 10k. Throughout March and April, we’ve been motivating each other to start running, and I’ll be honest — it’s been far more rewarding than I ever expected. I’m incredibly grateful to work with people who constantly empower and encourage me, and who, in this case, have given me the confidence to attempt something I never thought I’d be capable of.

On 17 May 2026, I’ll be running alongside them — but also for them. This run is a way of showing just how amazing they are, and how their motivation and kind words have inspired me to take on this challenge.

I’m also running to raise funds for an organisation that means a great deal to me: Citizens Advice Plymouth. After working there for four years, I continue to be inspired every day by the dedication, compassion, and commitment of this wonderful organisation.

Citizens Advice supports people locally and nationally with a wide range of issues, and with the cost of living continuing to rise, the advice and support they provide in our city is more important than ever. I couldn’t be prouder to work for such an incredible organisation.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly towards helping people access vital advice and support when they need it most. There is absolutely no pressure to donate — if you’re able to do just one thing, please consider sharing my link.

And if you’re nearby, feel free to come and cheer me (and my colleagues!) on at The Hoe on 17 May 2026 — moral support is very welcome.

Thank you so much for reading!!!
