Alsager Explorer Scouts walking 40 miles for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice

Phoenix Explorers Alsager is raising money for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice

Chase Walk 40 Mile Hike · 14 March 2026

Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing specialist, palliative care and support to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Our support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and ultimately end of life care.

Story

Phoenix Explorers (aged 14-17) from Alsager are taking part in the annual Chase Walk challenge, hiking almost 40 miles around Cannock Chase in a single day, for charity.

They have voted for St Luke’s Hospice as their 2026 good cause

St Luke’s provide specialist, palliative care and support to local people, free of charge, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Their support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and ultimately end of life care. They help families and carers with the pressures and strains of illness, to coping with bereavement and moving forward. This is only made possible due to the continued support and generous donations of our community who provide over 80% of the cost of running the Hospice.
