The Phoenix, an independent cinema, is a charity run by and for the local community. Dating back to 1910, the Phoenix is a cultural beacon and a much-loved community centre. Our aims are to promote film culture through a diverse programme, to care for the building and to provide arts education.

Story

The Phoenix Cinema, East Finchley, has been open since 1912 and has been run by a charitable trust since 1985. It is London's oldest continuously running cinema and is much loved by all who use it.

Recently, the cinema was vandalised in an attempt to stop the screening of the film "Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre" as part of the Seret International Israeli Film Festival. This act of vandalism was truly outrageous and has left us in urgent need of support. We are seeking voluntary contributions to cover the costs of cleaning and repairing any damage caused by this senseless act. Our fundraising campaign, aims to ensure that this historic institution can continue to serve our community for years to come.
