Rochdale Foodbank is one of a network of over 400 Trussell foodbanks in the UK, working a Referral system to help ensure our clients get all the help they need to get out of their crisis. We currently help over 100 households every week with food that is 80% donated by the public, around 6000 kgs each month. We rely on financial donations to make up the remaining 20% costing us over £30000 each year as demand remains very high, due to the ongoing cost of living situation. We have direct help from Citizens Advice each day as well as from other Agencies who give free help to our clients. We are presently opening a CMA Connect Centre offering Debt Advice and Money support to our clients. We also operate Rochdale Central Pantry, giving our clients another help up the ladder out of food poverty. The Pantry has Members (mostly former foodbank clients) who pay a weekly fee to choose cheap or free food for themselves.

We are shocked and devastated by the passing of our dear friend and colleague Faridah Newman. We know that Rochdale Foodbank was a charity close to Faridah’s heart and we are raising funds in her memory. Our thoughts are with Faridah’s family.
