PHSO's Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge for 42nd Street

Katy Wright is raising money for 42nd Street - Supporting Young People Under Stress

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge · 30 May 2026

We are here to support young people with their emotional well-being and mental health by offering a choice of effective, creative, young person-centred and rights-based approaches.

Story

The Challenge

On Saturday 30th May 2026, we will be trading our office desks for the rugged terrain of the Yorkshire Dales. We are taking on the legendary Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – a gruelling 24-mile hike that takes on three of Yorkshire’s highest peaks: Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. It's a race against the clock, aiming to finish within 12 hours. We're expecting sore feet, aching muscles, and a true test of our grit and determination.

Why We Are Walking

At PHSO, we see first hand the impact that public services have on people's lives. For this challenge, we’ve chosen to support 42nd Street, an incredible Greater Manchester charity dedicated to young people's mental health.

For over 45 years, 42nd Street has provided a vital "safety net" for young people aged 11–25 who are struggling with their emotional wellbeing. They offer free, confidential, and creative support, from 1-to-1 counselling, to arts-based therapy at their gallery - The Horsfall - helping young people find their voice and build resilience in an increasingly complex world.

How Your Donation Helps

Mental health support for young people has never been more critical. Your donations will directly fund 42nd Street’s mission to ensure that every young person in Manchester feels listened to, valued, and safe.

• £10 could help provide resources for a creative art session.

• £25 could fund a 1-to-1 support session for a young person in distress.

• £50 could contribute toward group workshops that build community and reduce isolation.

We have set an ambitious fundraising target of £2000, and we need help to reach it.

Any donation you can make would really help us. No amount is too small!

This challenge will be physically and mentally demanding, but it is nothing compared to the mountains many young people climb every day in their mental health journeys.

Please donate whatever you can to help us reach our target. Your support will keep us moving through the blisters and the steep climbs!

Thank you for your generosity!
