Hey guys!

In the summer of 2024, 4 of us are heading over to Sri Lanka to volunteer the summer in a gorgeous little town called Hikkaduwa! We will be helping with marine and wildlife conservation and sports development in this underdeveloped area. Throughout the volunteering we will be participating in many different influential activities. During our marine and wildlife conservation we will be focusing on environmental impacts such as rainforest replantation, agriculture to supply to the local community with fresh fruits, vegetables and plants, playing a part in beach and ocean clean ups for the marine life and excitingly nurturing baby turtles from hatchlings to being able to be set free into the world! As for sports, we will be volunteering and getting involved with sports promotion, coaching & teaching, development skills and taking part and team work. This will be in the local schools and the local sports centres where we will also be rebuilding facilities for current and future use. Our aim is to improve mental wellbeing, improve knowledge through education and also girl empowerment with involvement in sports.

This will be our final summer before becoming qualified physiotherapists within the NHS, our aim out there is to share our knowledge, our skills, our care and compassion within the communities near or far, as well as promoting a healthy, fun, lifestyle adding to a sufficient, sustainable environment worldwide.

Over the next few months we will be doing a range of different activities to help raise some money and awareness for the charity that makes these impacts and connections in deprived areas, such as Sri Lanka - Keep an eye out for our fundraising plans, support us however you can and keep upto date with our adventures and achievements 😁 Every little helps and we appreciate every donation we get!
