Group Charity Abseil for St Leonard's Hospice, York

Justine Donaldson is raising money for St Leonard's Hospice, York

Charity Abseil - Wainhouse Tower · 28 November 2025

St Leonard’s Hospice is an independent charity, providing care and support for local people with life limiting illnesses. We have an In-patient Unit, Sunflower Centre and Hospice@Home service. Our care is free of charge to patients and their families but not free to provide.

Story

A group of colleagues from PIB Insurance Brokers York are raising money for St Leonard’s Hospice. We are abseiling down Wainhouse Tower which is 253ft - the tallest folly in the world!

St Leonard’s is a locally based charity close to our hearts. They provide care and support for terminally ill people, and people with life limiting illnesses and have been doing so for 40 years.

They provide care for free, however it is not free to provide. St Leonard’s only receive approximately 25% of funding from the NHS. They must raise over £6 million a year to run the services and they make sure as much as possible goes directly to patient care and facilities.

Any donation you can you make big or small really helps to make the difference!

Thanks in advance for your support and good luck to those who have signed up to part!!
