Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Donate to support our skydive and transform the lives of cancer and dementia patients.
The proceeds raised from our skydive will be split between the QE Cancer Appeal which helps to support Cancer patients who are receiving life saving treatment at the QE. For example, it could fund Cancer Cloud Kits.
Cancer Cloud Kits help cancer patients explain to their children what they or a family member are going through.
Each kit has an age-appropriate booklet of information, colouring-in pages, cards, worry pegs and much more to help the child understand what their loved one is going through.
The Hedgehog Cloud Kit (3-5 yrs), The Tiger Cloud Kit (6-11yrs), The Cancer Cloud Kit (12-14yrs) and the Pip’s Cloud Kit (5-10yrs) contain an age-appropriate set of tools designed to help children or young people to understand what cancer is, the treatments given, and the side-effects they may cause.
The Charity also helps sick children who are treated at the QE as they are provided with toys, Little Linacs which are miniature building blocks to help them build the equipment that they will be treated with, blankets to comfort them in treatment and an artist who paints their radiotherapy mask so they can be their favourite superhero.
Funds will also go the QE’s Older People Appeal to help the elderly and those with dementia and Alzheimer’s: For our older patients, QE support the wards by funding various activities to help them during treatment. They provide interactive games to encourage communication and aid memory. They also fund orientation clocks and signs that show whether it is day or night, dementia friends’ crockery as well as twiddle muffs, dolls and large pieced jigsaws to help calm people with dementia.
