We truly believe that no family should be left to care for a disabled child alone.

The Children’s Respite Trust provides vital respite care for families caring for children with complex medical needs across Sussex and Kent. Through their specialist centre in Uckfield and their dedicated community support workers, they give families the chance to rest and recharge - while children enjoy safe, stimulating and fun care.

All of this support is provided free of charge, relying entirely on fundraising and donations.

In September 2026, Bryce Murphy (Operations Director) and Sam Dungate (Audiologist) from Sussex Audiology Centre will be taking on the Picos de Europa Trek in northern Spain to help raise vital funds for the Trust.

Over five challenging days, the 65km trek includes long mountain hikes, steep ascents and descents, and iconic routes such as the dramatic Cares Gorge - a demanding challenge taken on in support of families who face far greater challenges every day.
