On 29 December 2020 my life changed completely. I had a brain aneurysm and I was one of the lucky ones - I survived but was left with only a slight brain injury. That was probably due to the fact that I was found quickly, scanned without delay and operated on that same day.

I went along to an evening meet facilitated by Headway for people with a brain injury.

I learned a lot of things which helped me and I met people who were not as lucky as I.

We come in all shapes and sizes, with varying degrees of disability and we share our thoughts and feelings in a safe place.

Interestingly in the 1990’s when I worked in the NHS we worked with Headway to set up a day service for people with a brain injury, it was one of the first in the country.

I am walking 14 miles from Worthing to Brighton on 02/08/2025 and I am lucky that I can - to raise funds for Headway. I would be very grateful if you would sponsor me.
